Berta Distillerie Amaro d'Erbe Il Duca originates from Italy, within the northwest region of Piedmont in the subregion of Monferrato. Founded in 1947 by Paolo Berta in the hillside village of Mombaruzzo, the historic distillery built a world-renowned reputation through premium artisanal grappa and liqueur production. Today, the family-run enterprise is managed by the second and third generations of the Berta family, marrying regional distillation mastery with traditional herbal infusions.

Spirit Description

This herbal digestif presents a brilliant amber appearance with rich mahogany reflections in the glass. The sensory profile features a layered, aromatic nose led by wild alpine herbs, gentian root, bitter orange peel, and rhubarb, laced with subtle hints of sweet vanilla and licorice. On the palate, the body is smooth, silky, and elegantly balanced, presenting an initial wave of sweet citrus and botanicals followed by a structured, refined herbal bitterness. The finish is remarkably long, dry, and persistent, leaving lingering warmth accented by dark baking spices and refreshing herbaceous undertones. This artisanal amaro is traditionally bottled at an alcohol by volume of 28%.
