Product description

Introduction

This red wine originates from Italy, specifically from the Valpantena subregion of the Valpolicella area in Veneto. Bertani was founded in 1857 by brothers Giovan Battista and Gaetano Bertani, and it remains a symbol of classic Veronese winemaking. The winery's philosophy is rooted in a respect for tradition, famously producing Amarone that is meant to be elegant, long lived, and reflective of the unique marl and limestone soils of the Valpantena valley.

Wine Description

The Bertani Amarone della Valpolicella Valpantena displays an intense red colour with violet reflections. The nose is rich and complex, offering unmistakable notes of black cherry, plum, and raspberry, interwoven with spicy hints of vanilla, cinnamon, and pepper. On the palate, the wine is full bodied and vigorous, featuring flavours of red fruit preserves and cocoa. It is characterized by its balanced structure, supple tannins, and a long finish that echoes the spicy and fruity notes found on the nose. The varietal composition typically consists of 80% Corvina Veronese and 20% Rondinella. The ABV is approximately 15.5%. While not certified organic, the winery focuses on sustainable practices to maintain the health of the historic vineyards.
