Product description

This single barrel bourbon whiskey originates from the United States, produced in the Kentucky region. Crafted at the historic Buffalo Trace Distillery in Frankfort, Kentucky, under the ownership of the Sazerac Company, Blanton's was introduced in 1984 as the world's first commercially sold single barrel bourbon. The "Special Reserve" expression—often referred to by collectors as the "Green Label"—is crafted from Buffalo Trace's famous low-rye High-Rye Mash Bill #2, aged in oak barrels selected from Warehouse H, and bottled at a lower proof specifically for international markets.

Spirit Description

This bourbon presents a bright, golden amber colour in the glass. The nose is light, sweet, and approachable, opening with fresh notes of green apple, dried citrus peel, and sweet vanilla, accompanied by gentle undertones of honey, soft oak, and floral corn. On the palate, it is light to medium-bodied with a smooth, clean mouthfeel, offering flavours of candied orange, subtle caramel, light rye spice, and vanilla cream. The finish is soft, dry, and crisp, leaving a brief, refreshing trail of mild oak, cinnamon spice, and sweet grain. Bottled at an entry-level strength of 40% ABV (80 proof), it delivers an extraordinarily accessible, clean, and gentle single-barrel profile.

Accolades

Blanton's Special Reserve has earned strong appreciation among international bourbon enthusiasts and collectors, particularly across Europe and Asia, as an entry point into the iconic Blanton's lineup. The brand itself holds legendary status in the spirits industry, receiving numerous Double Gold and Gold medals at prestigious international competitions like the San Francisco World Spirits Competition.
