Founded in 1761, Giacomo Borgogno & Figli is one of the oldest and most respected Barolo estates. Now led by Andrea Farinetti, the winery combines centuries-old traditions with careful vineyard stewardship, focusing on long fermentations and extended ageing in large Slavonian oak barrels to produce wines of remarkable elegance and longevity.
Wine Description
This Barolo Riserva reveals a deep garnet colour with subtle brick reflections. The nose offers complex aromas of dried cherry, rose, underbrush, and earthy spice, complemented by hints of leather and medicinal herbs. On the palate, it shows vibrant cranberry and red plum layered with savoury spice, truffle, and gamey notes. The wine is full-bodied yet finely balanced, with polished tannins and a long, mineral-inflected finish.
