This delicate and "Atlantic-style" red wine originates from the Trentino DOC in Northern Italy. Produced by the Cavit group; a leading cooperative in the region the Bottega Vinai (sometimes labeled as Bottega Vinaia) line is their premium "estate-style" selection, focused on highlighting the specific alpine terroir of the Calavino hills. The winery's philosophy leverages the high-altitude, well-ventilated morainal soils at 300 to 450m above sea level to produce a Pinot Nero (Pinot Noir) that prioritizes varietal purity and cool-climate elegance over sheer power.

Wine Description

The Bottega Vinai Pinot Nero presents a classic ruby red colour, which develops subtle brick-red highlights as it matures in the bottle. The sensory profile is notably aromatic and "nuanced," featuring a primary nose of redcurrants, cherries, and wild raspberries, layered with sophisticated notes of almonds, vanilla, and sweet spices. On the palate, the wine is medium-to-light-bodied and "velvety," showcasing soft tannins and a vibrant, balanced acidity that provides a juicy red fruit finish. It is characterized by its savory and slightly earthy undertones, leading to a fresh and harmonious finish. This 100% Pinot Nero was aged for 10 to 12 months in a combination of barriques and larger oak casks to enhance its structural complexity without overwhelming its delicate floral character. It typically has an ABV of 13%.
