Product description

This structured and aristocratic white wine originates from France, within the prestigious Meursault A.O.C. appellation in the Cote de Beaune subregion of Burgundy. Produced by Bouchard Pere & Fils, an iconic Burgundian maison founded in 1731 with nearly three centuries of winemaking heritage, this bottling represents an exceptional benchmark for village tier Meursault. Sourced from choice estate and partner vineyard plots planted on eastern and southeastern facing slopes, the vines thrive in deep, limestone rich soils composed of Jurassic marl, clay, and hard chalk. Burgundy's continental microclimate allows Chardonnay grapes to achieve complete phenolic maturity while preserving a razor sharp natural acidity and intense mineral drive.

Wine Description

Bouchard Pere & Fils Meursault presents a luminous, pale straw gold colour in the glass with bright platinum reflections along the rim. Its sensory profile is exceptionally fresh, high toned, and complex, delivering an expansive, precise, and sophisticated portrait of C'f4te de Beaune limestone terroir. The bouquet opens with a soaring display of sliced green apples, Anjou pears, white peaches, and lemon curd, seamlessly layered with complex underlays of toasted hazelnuts, white flowers, wet stone minerality, and a subtle touch of buttery brioche. On the palate, the wine is medium to full bodied, sleek, and athletic, showcasing a succulent core of tart orchard fruit, citrus oil, and ripe melon. It is characterized by its outstanding inner energy and an incisive, mouthwatering backbone of natural acidity that effortlessly cuts across its rich mid palate density. The mouthfeel is broad, weightless, and silky, framed by a tactile, creamy texture gained from traditional lees contact that carries into an extraordinarily long, dry, and mineral driven finish.

This high definition French expression is 100% Chardonnay, hand harvested at optimal ripeness. Following gentle whole cluster pressing, the juice was transferred into French oak barrels for temperature controlled primary fermentation. The wine underwent controlled malolactic conversion and was matured in select French oak barrels (approximately 15% to 25% new wood) for 8 to 12 months with periodic lees stirring to build seamless mid palate volume. It reaches an effortlessly integrated alcohol content (ABV) of 13.0% to 13.5% and is finished bone dry.
