Product description
From France’s Northern Rhône, this wine hails from the Crozes Hermitage appellation, the largest in the prestigious Hermitage region. Maison Brotte, a family-run estate founded in 1931, is renowned for crafting elegant Rhône wines that reflect both tradition and terroir. Their ‘La Rollande’ label exemplifies Brotte’s philosophy of producing approachable yet age-worthy Syrah.
Wine Description
The 2023 vintage presents a deep ruby colour with violet hues. The nose reveals expressive aromas of black cherry, blackcurrant, liquorice, violets, and subtle white pepper, evolving with notes of roasted meat and savoury herbs. On the palate, it is medium-bodied and silky, with flavours of dark fruit, olives, and a peppery edge balanced by vibrant acidity and a refined stony depth. The finish is smooth, lingering with hints of spice and violet.
Food Pairing
An excellent match for grilled short ribs with herbes de Provence, roasted lamb, or charcuterie platters featuring cured meats and aged cheeses.
