Product description
Buehler Vineyards Chardonnay originates from the United States, within the California region and the world-famous Russian River Valley subregion of Sonoma County. The estate itself is an idyllic family-owned property established in 1971 by John Buehler Sr., located in the mountains east of St. Helena in Napa Valley. The winery's current operational philosophy relies on the belief that less intervention is better when dealing with a delicate variety like Chardonnay. Although their hillside estate focuses on red varieties, they have been sourcing Chardonnay from the cooler maritime climate of the Russian River Valley since 1993, highlighting balance, proportion, and regional authenticity over heavy winemaking manipulations.
Wine Description
This white wine presents a clear, bright, and golden-yellow appearance in the glass and possesses a medium-to-full-bodied structure with a creamy, velvety, and mouth-filling texture. The sensory profile is highly elegant, expressive, and balanced, opening with an abundant nose of white flowers, honeysuckle, ripe peach, and apricot, intricately woven with mineral lime, citrus blossom, and toasty notes of graham cracker. On the rich, supple, and vibrant palate, it delivers concentrated flavours of yellow pear, crisp apple, lemon, and pineapple, seamlessly balanced by a refreshing, lively natural acidity. The finish is remarkably long, clean, and crisp, leaving a lingering impression of baking spice, light vanilla, and subtle orchard fruit.
Varietal Composition: 100% Chardonnay sourced from the Wood Vineyard on River Road and the River Vineyard on East Side Road.
Stylistic Notes: The wine is celebrated for its classic buttery yet complex profile, perfectly combining lush fruit definition with traditional cellar techniques. To maximize mouthfeel and texture, it undergoes sur-lie aging, regular lees stirring, and full secondary malolactic fermentation, tempered by the measured use of new French oak alongside stainless steel tank fermentation.
ABV: Typically 13.9%.
