Product description
Bunnahabhain 18 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky originates from Scotland, in the Islay region. Established in 1881 near the northern mouth of the Sound of Islay, the historic coastal distillery was built to take advantage of local maritime trade routes. Today, the distillery is owned by Distell Group Limited, a subsidiary of Heineken, which continues to uphold its centuries old heritage of unpeated and gently sherried single malts.
Spirit Description
This single malt displays a rich mahogany appearance with golden highlights in the glass. The nose opens with a fragrant, complex bouquet featuring salted caramel, dried fruits, honeyed nuts, and subtle leather, laced with a gentle sea spray undertone. On the palate, the body is dense and oily, delivering balanced flavours of sweet sherry, roasted chestnuts, dark chocolate, and a distinct coastal salinity. The finish is long, dry, and warming, carrying lingering notes of oak spice, nutmeg, and a faint marine tang. This expression is non-chill filtered and bottled at an alcohol by volume of 46.3%.
Accolades
As one of the most celebrated expressions in the distillery's core portfolio, this 18 year old malt has consistently earned high honours in international spirit competitions. Notable accolades include Gold Medals at the International Wine & Spirit Competition and the International Spirits Challenge, as well as a Category Winner title at the World Whiskies Awards.
