Product description
Burrowing Owl Vineyards Athene originates from Canada, specifically from the Okanagan Valley subregion of British Columbia. The winery was founded by Jim Wyse, who is committed to creative viticultural and enological practices based on a philosophy of balance and environmental responsibility. 'Athene' is a unique blend that represents the estate's dedication to world-class winemaking in the heart of the Okanagan, a region known for its continental climate and temperature moderation provided by nearby lakes.
Wine Description
This red blend presents a full-bodied and intense character in the glass. The sensory profile is rich and layered, featuring inviting aromas of mixed berry pie, purple plum, sage, and dried thyme, underpinned by notes of coffee and black pepper spice. On the palate, the wine is textured and elegant, delivering flavours of black cherry, blackcurrant, and vanilla, complemented by fresh mint and dried herb notes. The structure is defined by ripe tannins and crisp acidity, which contribute to its significant ageing potential and lead to a long, persistent finish.
Varietal Composition: A blend of Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon.
ABV: Recorded at 14.5%.
