Product description

This structured and expressive red wine originates from Portugal, within the Bairrada region of Central Portugal. Sourced from the Colinas de São Lourenço estate, the vineyards span 151 acres of gentle, rolling hills dominated by distinctive clay-limestone soils. The entire estate is dry-farmed and operates under an exclusive gravity-flow winemaking philosophy. By using the base of their most iconic red wine ('Principal'), the winemakers intentionally craft this expression to mirror the mineral depth and unique geological footprint of their limestone-rich terroir.

Wine Description

Calcário do Principal Reserva Tinto presents a ruby coloration with deep, opaque nuances. On the nose, it displays an intense and complex aromatic profile highlighting black fruits, dark-earth funk, crushed violets, and lavender, layered with refined undertones of cedar, leather, tea leaves, and graphite. The full-bodied palate is concentrated yet remarkably silky and velvety, wrapping around the mouth with deep flavors of wild mulberries, sweet plum, and blueberries. It is characterized by an outstanding, vibrant acidity and firm, nicely chewy tannins that provide polished edges and exceptional structure. This dry red blend possesses a long, persistent, and highly mineral finish.
