Product description
Canadian Club Classic 12 Year Old Small Batch Canadian Whisky is a flagship aged expression produced at the historic Canadian Club Distillery in Windsor, Ontario, Canada (owned by Beam Suntory). Established in 1858 by Hiram Walker, Canadian Club is one of the most storied names in North American distilling history. Unlike many whiskies that blend spirits after aging, Canadian Club employs a signature "blending before aging" technique marrying select grain distillates before placing them into oak barrels to mature together for a full decade and a two-year bonus. The 12-year expression represents an elevated, rich, and wood-influenced evolution of the brand's classic profile.
Spirit Description
Canadian Club Classic 12 Year Old is crafted from a precise grain bill of rye, rye malt, corn, and barley malt. Distilled in continuous column stills for smoothness, the spirits are blended together prior to entering charred white American oak barrels. The whisky then matures for 12 full years in Windsor’s climate-controlled rackhouses. This extended aging allows the corn spirit to develop a deep, creamy vanilla foundation while the rye and barley components absorb rich oak tannins and warm spice from the wood.
Colour: Deep golden amber with bronze glints.
Aroma: Soft, warm, and inviting, opening with rich vanilla, butterscotch, and sweet corn, followed by toasted oak, dried fruit, and a pleasant rye baking spice.
Palate: Full, smooth, and well-rounded on the entry. Upfront sweet flavors of caramel, honey, and vanilla bean blend with toasted oak, gentle rye spice, and a hint of dark nuttiness.
Body: Medium-to-full-bodied with a smooth, velvety, and creamy mouthfeel.
Finish: Long, warm, and comforting, trailing off with persistent sweet oak, dark sugar, vanilla, and a soft peppery spice.
