Product description

Cascina Penna-Currado Langhe Nebbiolo 'Bricco Lago' 2023 originates from Italy, within the Piedmont region and the Langhe DOC subregion. The estate represents a venture founded by Luca Currado Vietti and Elena Penna (formerly of the iconic Vietti winery), establishing their boutique family project in Monforte d'Alba. Sourced from vines in the San Sebastiano hamlet that range from 15 to 65 years of age, the 'Bricco Lago' site cascades down toward the only natural lake in the Langhe, characterized by clay and limestone soils that yield wines of classic Monforte structure and elegance.

Wine Description

This red wine displays an intense, translucent garnet colour. The nose opens with aromatic notes of wild raspberry, tart cherry, and wild strawberry, accompanied by floral accents of rose petal and violet alongside subtle nuances of blood orange, crushed stone, and baking spice. On the palate, it exhibits a medium body with a bright, linear texture, supported by chalky, high-quality tannins and energetic, mouthwatering acidity. Stylistically, the 2023 vintage combines the structural seriousness typical of Monforte d'Alba with fresh, crunchy red fruit purity, concluding with a persistent, savory finish carrying notes of citrus zest and earthy spice.
