Product description
Located in the rugged, wild hills of the Maremma in southern Tuscany, Castello di Montepò is the crown jewel estate of Jacopo Biondi Santi and his son, Tancredi. Carrying forward the legendary legacy of the Biondi Santi family who famously created Brunello di Montalcino at Tenuta Greppo—Jacopo set out to forge modern, terroir-driven expressions using the family's proprietary Sangiovese clone, Sangiovese Grosso BBS11 (Biondi Santi 11).
Jet is an innovative, high-end Tuscan Rosato that showcases the versatility of the BBS11 clone. Named after Jacopo Biondi Santi's beloved thoroughbred racehorse, this wine reflects speed, elegance, and power, standing as one of Tuscany’s most sophisticated pink wines.
Wine Description
The Castello di Montepò Jet Rosato displays a bright, translucent peach-pink or soft coral hue reminiscent of classic Provençal rosé. On the nose, it is intensely aromatic and refined, bursting with aromas of fresh pink grapefruit, wild strawberries, white peach, and orange blossom, complemented by subtle nuances of Mediterranean scrub (macchia), crushed stone, and fresh herbs.
On the palate, the wine is sleek, crisp, and energetic. The naturally high acidity of the Sangiovese Grosso clone provides a vibrant, mouthwatering spine that cuts through a plush, silky texture. Flavors of red currant, pomegranate, and citrus zest dominate the palate, leading into a clean, mineral-driven, and slightly savory finish.
Crafted from 100% Sangiovese Grosso BBS11, the fruit undergoes a very brief skin contact (cold maceration) to gently extract color and delicate aromatics before soft pressing and temperature-controlled fermentation in stainless steel, preserving ultimate freshness and precision.
