Castello di Querceto Chianti Classico 'La Corte' Gran Selezione 2018

Product description

95 Points -  James Suckling

Aromas of sweet berries, cedar and some bark follow through to a medium body with firm, velvety tannins and a juicy finish. Layered and very pretty. So delicious now, but it will also age wonderfully. Drink or hold.

92 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate

This vintage saw freezing winter temperatures and a hot summer. The 2018 Chianti Classico Gran Selezione La Corte draws fruit from a pretty south and southwest-facing vineyard with well-draining, sandy soils. This wine is beautifully intact and fresh. It reveals a primary bouquet of wild cherry, plum and forest fruit. The finish is linear, tight and polished, especially regarding the tannins. It ages 12 months in both barrique and tonneaux made from Tronçais and Allier oak and sees another six months in bottle before its commercial release.
