More Information
Product description
From the heart of Tuscany's Chianti region, this wine comes from the historic Fattoria di Castelvecchi estate. Mentioned in medieval documents as a "castle and court," the winery has a history spanning over a thousand years. The vineyards are considered a heritage of Italian viticulture, with some vines over 50 years old. The wines are aged in the ancient cellar under the vaults of the castle, which helps to create a balance between power and elegance.
Wine Description
The Castelvecchi Chianti Gran Selezione is made entirely from Sangiovese grapes. It has a lively garnet-red colour. The nose offers an array of aromas including black cherry, crushed cherry, worn leather, and clay. On the palate, there are flavours of black cherry, fresh herbs, and crushed stone. It is a ripe, full-bodied wine with a significant tannic structure that needs food to soften. This wine is described as powerful and structured, with a long and satisfying finish.

Food Pairing
This full-bodied Tuscan red is a great match for red meat or steak. It pairs well with meaty lasagna, meat-lover’s pizza, or spaghetti and meatballs. A perfect match to enhance the wine's complexity.
