Catena Chardonnay 2024

Catena Chardonnay originates from Argentina, specifically within the Mendoza region. Founded in 1902 by Italian immigrant Nicola Catena, Bodega Catena Zapata is a pioneer in high-altitude viticulture and is currently managed by fourth-generation vintner Laura Catena. The winery’s philosophy focuses on single-varietal assemblages from various high-mountain estate vineyards, blending the unique strengths of different elevations—ranging from 950 to 1,450 metres—to achieve natural balance, concentration, and complexity.

Wine Description

This Chardonnay presents an intense greenish colour with yellow notes. The sensory profile is highly aromatic, featuring a nose of honey, white flowers, and tropical fruits like pineapple and banana, alongside notes of citrus, pear, and peach. On the medium-to-full-bodied palate, it is rich and expressive, delivering flavours of stone fruit, golden apple, and a delicate hint of vanilla and sweet spices. The wine is characterized by a creamy texture and fresh, crisp acidity, leading to a long and balanced finish with strong mineral nuances.
