Produced in the far southerly growing region of Altamira in the Uco Valley, Mendoza, Argentina, this wine originates from the esteemed Nicasia Vineyard. This specific site was a favourite of Domingo Catena, father of the pioneering Nicolás Catena, and remains the only location planted with a special selection of Malbec cuttings known as Catena Cuttings. The Catena Zapata family is dedicated to making profound wines that reflect the unique character of their historic high-altitude vineyards.

Wine Description

This 100% Malbec exhibits a deep red colour with striking violet hues. The sensory profile is concentrated and voluminous, featuring a nose of ripe plum, raspberries, and blue fruit accented by complex notes of tar, tapenade, and vanilla from its time in French oak. On the palate, it is medium to full bodied and juicy, displaying succulent tannins and a refined mineral finish. This bold yet balanced wine offers a sweet entry and soft, round tannins that lead into a long, lingering finish.
