This is the first wine made by Tommaso and Roberto Cavalli, whose winery is nestled in the iconic Conco d'Oro hills surrounding Panzano in Chianti. To this day, it remains Cavalli's flagship wine. Initially the wine was composed of all of all the grape varieties grown at the winery. From the 2008 vintage onward, Cavalli settled on a combination of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Petit Verdot, and 15% Cabernet Franc, imparting that self-assured and even enigmatic flavour that is the essence of its spirit. Tenuta Degli Dei has been consistently recognized by critics as an outstanding wine throughout its many vintages, regularly earning points of 90 and above.
