Cincuenta y Cinco comes from vineyards planted in 1955, which gently rest on a sea of pebbles, typical in riverbed soils. It is whole-cluster fermented at very low temperatures, enhancing the floral characteristics of the wine. Cincuenta y Cinco has the highest amount of tension of all the Chacra wines while it retains a comfortable ease. There is a beautiful purity in this wine with dried strawberries and iodine. This refined red mixes crushed bilberry and cherry fruit with smoke, game and mineral undertones. A fine length.
96 Points - James Suckling
Fresh and floral nose with tiles, vibrant red berries and pomegranate. Stony, mineral verve. Pure and expressive with good tension on the medium-bodied palate. Silky, very nimble and elegant. Acidic red berries in the finish that cleanse the palate. So much drinkability. Drink or hold. From biodynamically grown grapes.
