Product description

This sophisticated red wine originates from the Saint-Émilion Grand Cru appellation on the Right Bank of Bordeaux, France. Produced by the Malet Roquefort family the historic owners of the Premier Grand Cru Classé Château La Gaffelière, Château Armens represents their commitment to making refined, terroir-driven wines accessible. The estate spans 25 hectares of clay-limestone and silty-clay soils, which the winery’s philosophy leverages to produce a "taut and always very fruity" identity.

Wine Description

The Château Armens Saint-Émilion Grand Cru 2019 presents a deep, intense red colour. The sensory profile is rich and aromatic, featuring a primary nose of blackberry, plum, and blackcurrant, layered with sophisticated notes of clove, nutmeg, and licorice. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and well-balanced, showcasing a velvety texture with grippy medium tannins and a vibrant, "tummy-warming" fruit core. It is characterized by its elegance and depth, leading to a long, sophisticated finish with subtle hints of mocha, vanilla, and toasted oak from 12 months of aging in French oak barrels. This Merlot-dominant blend typically has an ABV of 14.5% and is currently in its prime maturity phase.
