Chateau Ausone 2022

Château Ausone is one of Bordeaux’s most legendary estates, located on the limestone-rich slopes of Saint-Émilion. With origins dating back to Roman times, the estate is named after the poet Ausonius and has remained remarkably small in production while globally revered. Owned by the Vauthier family, the winery is known for its uncompromising quality and emphasis on Cabernet Franc’s expression through traditional, biodynamic viticulture and hand-harvesting practices.

Wine Description
Château Ausone 2022 offers a deep garnet-purple colour, signalling its concentration and ageing potential. On the nose, the wine unfurls layers of dark fruit—plum, blackberry, and black cherry—entwined with crushed violets, fresh mint, graphite, and exotic spice. The palate is rich, full-bodied, and structured, presenting a profound core of ripe black fruit accented by licorice, blood orange zest, and floral lift. Fine-grained, powdery tannins give the wine remarkable tension and poise, while its vibrant acidity contributes to a linear, persistent finish.
