Chateau Calet 2019

This wine originates from France, within the Right Bank of the Bordeaux region and the Blaye Côtes de Bordeaux appellation. Château Calet is situated on clay-limestone soils overlooking the Gironde estuary. The winery practices sustainable viticulture that respects the soil, focusing on minimal-intervention methods to capture the authentic, fruit-forward charm and earthy structure characteristic of the Côtes de Bordeaux.

Wine Description

This deep ruby red wine displays dense aromas of ripe dark plum, blackberry, and dark cherry, accompanied by smoky nuances, subtle herbal accents, and delicate baking spice. On the palate, it exhibits a fleshy, medium-to-full body with a rich core of ripe black fruits, framed by firm, chalky tannins and a balanced, mouthwatering acidity. The finish is savory, dry, and persistent with lingering notes of dark fruit, leather, and smoke. The varietal composition is a Merlot-dominant Right Bank blend consisting of 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon (with small proportions of Cabernet Franc in select parcels). It has an alcohol content of 13.5% ABV and is not certified organic.
