Product description

This distinguished white wine hails from the Pessac Leognan appellation in France. Founded in the 13th century by Benedictine monks, Chateau Carbonnieux is one of the oldest estates in Bordeaux and was notably visited by Thomas Jefferson in the late 1700s. Today, the property is owned by the Perrin family, who have maintained its status as a Grand Cru Classé while focusing on a winemaking philosophy that emphasizes the unique gravelly terroir to produce what many consider the benchmark for dry white Bordeaux.

Wine Description

The Chateau Carbonnieux Blanc presents a bright, shimmering appearance with green highlights. The aromatic profile is intense and elegant, featuring a complex bouquet of lemon oil, grapefruit, white peach, and jasmine, accented by subtle hints of honeysuckle and vanilla. On the palate, the wine is medium to full bodied with a satiny texture, offering a vibrant core of citrus and pear flavors balanced by a zesty, mineral-driven acidity. The finish is long and refreshing, often revealing a distinctive saline or 'fleur de sel' edge.
