Product description

Château Clerc Milon, a distinguished Fifth Growth estate from the 1855 Bordeaux Classification, is situated in the Pauillac appellation of Bordeaux, France. The 2020 vintage is a blend of 53% Cabernet Sauvignon, 37% Merlot, 8% Cabernet Franc, and 2% Petit Verdot.

Tasting Notes

  • Nose: Aromas of dark berries, cigar wrapper, exotic spices, and burning embers.
  • Palate: Medium to full-bodied, fleshy, and layered, with lively acidity and a long, saline, violet-inflected finish.
  • Finish: Persistent and elegant, with a balance of rich fruit and minerality.

Accolades

  • Wine Enthusiast: 95 Points – "A firm structure and dark tannins give this wine a solid backbone. It has the weight and richness to support the tannins, with a juicy black-currant flavor."
  • Jeb Dunnuck: 94 Points – "Ripe currants, cassis, damp earth, graphite, and crushed stone-like minerality define the bouquet. Medium to full-bodied, with a focused, pure texture, expansive richness on the mid-palate, and ripe, building tannins."

Optimal Drinking Window

This wine is expected to develop beautifully with age and is best enjoyed from 2025 through 2040.

Serving Suggestions

Decanting for about an hour is recommended to allow the wine to open up fully. Serve at a temperature of 16-18°C (60-64°F).
