Product description

Chateau Croizet Bages is a prestigious Fifth Growth estate located in the Pauillac appellation of Bordeaux, France. Originally part of the larger Bages estate, it was acquired by the Croizet brothers in the 18th century before being purchased in 1942 by Paul Quié, a wine broker whose descendants, Anne Francoise and Jean Philippe Quié, continue to manage the property today. The estate’s winemaking philosophy focuses on the expression of its 27-hectare contiguous vineyard situated on deep gravelly soils, which produces structured wines known for their balance and longevity.

Wine Description

The wine presents a deep ruby-red colour and an expressive sensory profile. The nose is complex, offering a bouquet of blackcurrant, dark cherry, and blackberry layered with savory hints of cedar, tobacco, and subtle vanilla from French oak. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and velvety, showcasing ripe dark fruits, dark chocolate, and a touch of spice supported by firm yet polished tannins.

Accolades

  • "Vinous - 94 points."

  • "Decanter - 92 points."

Food Pairing

This Pauillac is best served with classic meat dishes such as grilled red meats, roasts, or a hearty beef stew. It also pairs exceptionally well with mature cheeses like Manchego or savory dishes featuring mushrooms and truffles.
