Chateau Ducru Beaucaillou 2012

Product description

Deep, vivid purple with a beautiful bouquet of blackcurrant and notes of violets. The palate has plenty of fruit, smooth tannins and good acidity. Well structured and very elegant with finesse. The finish has outstanding persistence and is long. Overall well balanced, an archetypal “claret.”

Blend: 91% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9% Merlot

96 Points - Decanter

This displays clear traces of coffee beans, dark chocolate and a swirl of creamy mocha - I can see parallels with the La Croix 2012. The texture is silky, with the pressure from the tannins suggesting just how well this will age. There's no need to wait too long to get going on this wine, though; it has a gourmet edge that's hard to resist.

95 Points - James Suckling

Mesmerizing aromas of blackberries, licorice and mint. Wet stones too. Full-bodied and tight with super-refined and polished tannins that are pinpointed and elegant. It caresses your palate. Savory and salty on finish. Electric for the vintage. Better after 2018.
