Product description
Chateau Haut Chaigneau is a well-regarded estate located in the Lalande de Pomerol appellation on Bordeaux’s Right Bank. Owned by the Chatonnet family, with famed oenologist Pascal Chatonnet at the helm, the estate is known for its meticulous attention to detail in both vineyard and cellar practices. The winery combines traditional Bordeaux sensibilities with modern winemaking precision to craft wines of depth and elegance.
Wine Description
The 2018 Chateau Haut Chaigneau presents a deep ruby colour with garnet highlights. Aromatically, it offers an expressive bouquet of ripe black cherries, plums, violets, and hints of cocoa and spice. On the palate, the wine is medium to full bodied, with supple tannins and a velvety texture. Flavours of dark berries, mocha, and earthy undertones unfold in layers, balanced by fresh acidity and a long, harmonious finish.
Food Pairing
This wine pairs elegantly with roasted duck breast, braised short ribs, or mushroom risotto. The supple tannins and layered palate complement rich and savoury dishes without overpowering them. A perfect match to enhance the wine's complexity.
