Product description
Château Lafite Rothschild 2011 originates from France, within the Bordeaux region and the Pauillac AOC subregion. As one of the five First Growth (Premier Grand Cru Classé) estates from the historic 1855 Classification, Lafite Rothschild is renowned globally for producing Cabernet Sauvignon-dominant wines of unmatched elegance, balance, and aging potential. Following the iconic, warm 2009 and 2010 vintages, 2011 was a classic, cooler year in Bordeaux characterized by an exceptionally dry spring, a erratic summer, and a hot late August, requiring meticulous selection to yield a wine defined by precision and structure.
Wine Description
This red wine displays a deep ruby-garnet colour with a dark core. The nose is complex and classic, opening with noble aromas of dark cassis, black cherry, and plum, intertwined with signature Pauillac accents of pencil lead, cedar, tobacco leaf, crushed violets, and subtle earthy graphite. On the palate, it exhibits a medium-to-full body with a tightly woven, polished texture, supported by firm, fine-grained tannins and bright, fresh acidity. Stylistically, the 2011 vintage presents a classic, linear, and aristocratic Lafite profile—less plush than 2009/2010, but showing extraordinary focus, refined minerality, and a long, classic finish.
Varietal composition: 80% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot
