Product description
This structured and 'savoury' red wine originates from France, within the Graves appellation of the Bordeaux region. Château Roquetaillade Le Bernet is part of the Vignobles Guignard portfolio, a family-run estate that has been cultivating vines in the South of Bordeaux for generations. The winery's philosophy focuses on traditional Bordeaux craftsmanship, utilizing the region's characteristic gravelly soils to produce 'classic' expressions that highlight the natural elegance of the terroir.
Wine Description
The 2015 Château Le Bernet presents a deep purple colour and a medium-to-full-bodied sensory profile. The nose is complex and intriguing, featuring aromas of black fruits, plums, and bilberries, layered with distinct notes of tobacco, cedar, and pencil shavings. On the palate, the wine is 'very smooth' and balanced, showcasing flavours of ripe black cherry and blueberry jam underpinned by silky tannins. It is characterized by its vibrancy and 'energy', often described as having a savory character with hints of chocolate and vanilla from its maturation. This Red Bordeaux Blend typically consists of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, reaching an alcohol content of approximately 13%. While the Guignard family emphasizes environmental respect in their vineyards, this specific bottling is not certified organic.
