Product description

Château Le Pin 2007 originates from France, within the Bordeaux region and the prestigious Pomerol subregion. Owned and managed by the Thienpont family since 1979, the estate spans a tiny 2.7-hectare parcel on a sunny, gravel-and-clay plateau near Château Trotanoy. Famed for its microscopic yields and ultra-exclusive production, Le Pin is celebrated as one of the world's premier expressions of Merlot. The estate's operational philosophy centers on rigorous fruit selection, gentle extractions, and minimal intervention. In 2007—a vintage requiring precise vineyard management—Le Pin produced a supple, highly charming, and early-accessible wine that displays the estate's signature aromatic elegance and textural finesse.

Wine Description

This red wine presents a mature, brilliant ruby-garnet hue in the glass with soft amber reflections at the rim. It possesses a medium-to-full-bodied, silky, and harmonious structure defined by a supple, velvety, and open-knit texture. The sensory profile is fragrant and alluring, opening with an expressive nose of ripe red cherries, wild plum preserves, and raspberries, layered with tertiary nuances of tobacco leaf, cedar, truffle, dried flowers, mocha, and subtle toasted spice. On the palate, it delivers a smooth, succulent core of red berry fruit balanced by fully resolved, cashmere-soft tannins and a gentle thread of refreshing natural acidity. The finish is remarkably long, graceful, and persistent, leaving a clean, savory aftertaste of dark cocoa and forest floor.

  • Varietal Composition: 100% Merlot.

  • Stylistic Notes: Hand-harvested with painstaking block-by-block selection, the grapes underwent fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats. The wine completed malolactic fermentation in 100% new French oak barrels and aged for approximately 18 to 20 months. It was bottled unfiltered to preserve its velvety weight and pure aromatics.
