Chateau le Puy Emilien 2016 is a garnet red, with small hints of ruby. The nose is earthy and leathery, with red fruits and exotic spices. A similarly generous yet cooler vintage than the 2015 has given the palate a delicate and ethereal quality, with lively acid balancing the plush tannins. A wine blessed with superb longevity, which will serve as a perfect partner for traditional rustic dishes and delicate, complex cuisine. Great ageing potential with the natural acidity, but plenty to enjoy already.
85% merlot, 7% cabernet sauvignon, 6% cabernet franc, 1% each of malbec and carménère.
