Chateau Phelan Segur hails from France, in the prestigious Saint-Estephe appellation of Bordeaux’s Left Bank, within the Haut-Médoc region. Founded in the early 19th century by Irishman Bernard O’Phelan, this estate has become renowned for crafting wines that blend elegance with Saint-Estephe’s robust character. Now under the stewardship of Philippe Van de Vyvere, the estate is dedicated to meticulous vineyard management and a philosophy centred on expressing terroir.

Wine Description

This vintage displays a deep ruby colour with purple reflections. Aromas unfold with layers of ripe blackberries, cassis, and hints of violet, complemented by subtle notes of graphite and cedar. On the palate, it is medium to full bodied, offering a graceful structure with polished tannins and vibrant acidity. Flavours of dark plum, blackcurrant, and tobacco leaf are interwoven with touches of spice, leading to a long, savoury finish. The blend predominantly features Cabernet Sauvignon with Merlot, enhancing both depth and approachability.
