Product description

Chateau Saint Hilaire is located in the Médoc region of Bordeaux, France. The estate was founded in 1982 by Adrien Uijttewaal, a Dutchman who settled in Jau Dignac Loirac on gravel ridges overlooking the Gironde estuary. Today, the winery is managed by Adrien's daughter, Elise Uijttewaal, who continues the family philosophy of creating elegant, balanced wines that reflect the finesse of the Médoc terroir.

Wine Description

This deeply coloured red wine features a complex aromatic profile with notes of blackcurrant, cherry, and plum, complemented by hints of cedar, graphite, and toasted oak. On the palate, it is medium to full bodied with a supple attack that gives way to a dense yet silky texture and fine grained tannins. The finish is long and graceful, often revealing touches of spice and earthy minerality.

Food Pairing

The wine’s structured tannins and dark fruit profile make it an excellent companion for roast beef with Dauphinois gratin, grilled lamb chops with rosemary, or a hearty mushroom and chestnut wellington. It also pairs well with aged cheddar or rich meat stews, which complement its earthy undertones.
