Product description

This structured and 'crystalline' sparkling red wine originates from Italy, within the esteemed Lambrusco di Sorbara D.O.C. appellation of Emilia-Romagna in Northern Italy. Produced by Cleto Chiarli the historic winery established in 1860 and celebrated as the oldest producer of Lambrusco the 'Vecchia Modena' premium cuvée is widely regarded as an benchmark gold standard for traditional, high-quality Lambrusco. Sourced from choice estate vineyards situated in the fertile alluvial plains of the Secchia and Panaro river valleys near Modena, the vines are rooted in deep, gravelly clay and silt soils. The continental microclimate features warm, sun-drenched summers and cool, foggy autumn nights, allowing the high-acid Sorbara grape to achieve complete phenolic maturity while retaining its signature mouthwatering freshness and delicate floral aromatics.

Wine Description

The Cleto Chiarli Vecchia Modena Lambrusco presents a luminous, pale ruby-pink color in the glass with bright garnet highlights, propelled by an exceptionally fine, persistent, and energetic stream of delicate bubbles (mousse). Its sensory profile is exceptionally fresh, high-toned, and complex, delivering an elegant, chiseled, and precise portrait of traditional Lambrusco di Sorbara. The bouquet opens with a soaring display of fresh wild strawberries, sour red cherries, and pomegranate seeds, seamlessly layered with delicate underlays of dried rose petals, violets, pink grapefruit zest, and a subtle line of crushed limestone minerality. On the palate, the wine is light-to-medium-bodied, sleek, and precisely focused, showcasing a vibrant core of crunchy red berry fruits, blood orange peel, and subtle herbal nuances. It is characterized by its outstanding inner energy and an incisive, mouthwatering backbone of natural acidity that cuts cleanly through the mid-palate texture. The mouthfeel is weightless, supple, and creamy, carrying into a long, bone-dry, and mineral-driven finish accented by lingering notes of cherry skin, red currant, and flint.
