More Information
Product description
Clos du Caillou Chateauneuf du Pape Les Safres originates from France, within the Southern Rhone region in the renowned Chateauneuf du Pape appellation. The estate traces its roots back to 1895 when it was initially used as a hunting reserve, which uniquely excluded its land from the original Chateauneuf du Pape boundary classification. Managed by the Pouizin-Pouzin family for generations and today led by Sylvie Vacheron, the winery focuses on organic viticulture and minimally invasive winemaking to highlight its distinct terroir.
Wine Description
This red wine displays a brilliant ruby red colour with vivid reflections. The nose reveals a fragrant bouquet of ripe red berries, wild strawberries, and cherries intertwined with liquorice, warm spices, and subtle floral touches of rose petals and violet. On the palate, it is medium to full-bodied, offering a supple texture filled with flavours of dark berries, blood orange, and delicate herbal notes. Fine, velvety tannins and lively acidity provide brilliant balance, leading to a long, ethereal finish.
