More Information
Product description
This vibrant rosé wine is crafted in Canada within the Similkameen Valley of British Columbia, utilizing premium grapes sourced from the Yakima Valley in Washington State. Founded on a commitment to producing Bordeaux style wines, Clos du Soleil operates with an artisanal philosophy that emphasizes minimal intervention and a deep respect for nature. In response to extreme winter freezes in British Columbia, the winery innovatively partnered with Washington growers to create their special Washington Series, allowing winemaker Michael Clark to continue producing exceptional wines from shared Pacific Northwest terroirs.
Wine Description
Colour: Delicate pale salmon pink in the glass.
Aroma: Highly expressive on the nose, opening with an elegant bouquet of rose buds, strawberries, lavender, and stone fruit.
Palate: Bright and lively on the dry palate, dancing with flavours of fresh peach, white nectarine, strawberry, and cherry.
Body: Medium-bodied with a beautifully juicy mid palate and a structured, lively tension.
Finish: Crisp, dry, and exceptionally long, accented by subtle touches of spice and sea salt.
Varietal Composition: 100% Sangiovese.
Stylistic Notes: Strikingly balanced, this wine focuses on delicate and gentle juice handling. After destemming and light crushing, the grapes are pressed almost immediately to preserve their delicacy, followed by a cool fermentation in stainless steel tanks while avoiding all oxygen contact to maintain pristine freshness.
Alcohol by Volume: 12.9%
Organic Status: Not certified organic, though made with minimal winery intervention and a light filtration just prior to bottling.
