Compass Box The Circle No. 2

This limited-edition blended malt Scotch whisky originates from Scotland. Created by the renowned boutique blending house Compass Box, "The Circle" series is an innovative collaboration project led by Compass Box Whiskymaker James Saxon alongside the winner of Compass Box's global bartender competition. For The Circle No. 2, Compass Box collaborated with bartender Rosey Mitchell. The expression was designed around the concept of synesthesia—specifically exploring the sensory connection between coral color and taste—and features a high proportion of single malts from West Highland distilleries (such as Clynelish), Speyside, and heavily peat-smoked malts from Islay.

Spirit Description

This blended malt displays a bright, luminous pale coral-gold hue in the glass. The nose is vibrant and alluring, opening with sweet notes of tropical pineapple, yellow peach, vanilla cream, and honeyed malt, accompanied by gentle underlying traces of bonfire smoke, sea spray, and light citrus zest. On the palate, it is medium to full-bodied with a rich, silky texture, delivering dominant flavours of juicy orchard fruit, creamy vanilla custard, and poached pear, beautifully balanced by a subtle, aromatic thread of peat smoke and soft oak spice. The finish is long, clean, and warming, leaving a delicate impression of sweet fruit, sea salt, and lingering light smoke. Bottled at a strength of 46% ABV without chill-filtration or added caramel coloring, it exhibits outstanding balance, elegance, and texture.
