Product description
This structured and 'crystalline' white wine originates from Australia, within the legendary McLaren Vale region of South Australia. Produced by d'Arenberg a historic family-owned winery founded in 1912 and led by fourth-generation chief winemaker Chester Osborn The Stump Jump series pays homage to the iconic South Australian invention of the stump jump plough. Sourced from choice, sustainably farmed vineyard blocks across McLaren Vale and Adelaide Hills, the vines are rooted in diverse soils ranging from sandy loam over red clay to gravelly limestone. The maritime microclimate, tempered by cooling breezes off the Gulf St Vincent, allows the late-ripening Sauvignon Blanc grapes to undergo a gradual ripening process, accumulating intense tropical citrus concentration while retaining a crisp, mouthwatering natural acidity.
Wine Description
D'Arenberg The Stump Jump Sauvignon Blanc presents a brilliant, pale straw-yellow appearance in the glass with vivid greenish-silver highlights along the rim. Its sensory profile is exceptionally fresh, high-toned, and complex, delivering an intensely aromatic and electric portrait of South Australian Sauvignon Blanc. The bouquet opens with an inviting display of fresh passionfruit, crushed guava, and pink grapefruit zest, seamlessly layered with delicate underlays of lemongrass, snap peas, white peach, and a subtle line of crushed limestone minerality. On the palate, the wine is light-to-medium-bodied, sleek, and precisely focused, showcasing a vibrant core of crunchy citrus, passionfruit pulp, and subtle herbal notes. It is characterized by its outstanding inner energy and an incisive, mouthwatering backbone of natural acidity that effortlessly elevates its mid-palate density. The mouthfeel is weightless, athletic, and supple, carrying into a long, dry, and mineral-driven finish accented by lingering notes of lime peel, green apple, and flint.
