Product description
Decoy Limited Red Blend Alexander Valley originates from the renowned Alexander Valley in Sonoma County, California. Founded in 1985 as a companion label to Duckhorn Vineyards, Decoy has evolved into a premier producer under The Duckhorn Portfolio, which was recently acquired by Butterfly Equity. The winery’s philosophy focuses on crafting 'pinnacle' wines by sourcing fruit from acclaimed estate properties and premium growers to showcase the distinct depth and charm of the region.
Wine Description
This wine presents an inky, deep ruby colour. The aromatic profile is highly expressive, featuring muddled strawberry, boysenberry, and blackberry crumble, accented by sophisticated notes of toasted cinnamon and cedar. On the palate, the wine is full bodied and rich, displaying flavors of blackberry pie and cocoa supported by silky, firm tannins and a bright acidity that ensures a fresh, balanced structure.
Food Pairing
The wine’s rich fruit and structured tannins make it a superb companion for hearty dishes such as Vietnamese shaking beef, grilled ribeye steak frites with bearnaise sauce, or gnocchi bolognese. It also pairs exceptionally well with roasted vegetables and aged hard cheeses.
