Demuerte Gold Red Wine Blend 2018
The dynamic duo behind the rise of the iconic line of Demuerte wines is Pablo Cortes and Karel Eissner. Pablo is an agricultural engineer who has worked as a winemaker in a number of Spanish wineries for over 15 years. He is the driving force behind Demuerte's enology, overseeing the entire process in from vine planting to wine bottling at their site in Yecla, Spain. Karel, on the other hand, is an architect, designer, and photographer with international experience in Germany, Colombia, and Spain. She is the creative director behind the labels' bright and colourful style, which is inspired by a Mexican death mask. They began with a small 3,000 bottles in 2015 and have since grown to 150,000 bottles per year, with a presence in 22 countries.
With a blending consisting of 50% Monastrell, 30% Syrah and 20% Garnacha, and at least 12 months in oak, this Gold is a profound cherry red. Tasting notes comprise ripe red berries with hints of pepper, clove and nutmeg. A full-bodied, silky Spanish blend with ripe tannins.
