Product description

Originating from France in the Champagne region, specifically within the Champagne AOC appellation, Dom Pérignon Rosé 'Damien Hirst' 2009 represents a transcendent, artistic, and prestige cuvée expression of vintage Champagne. Produced by the historic House of Dom Pérignon under Chef de Cave Vincent Chaperon, this special edition celebrates a creative collaboration with renowned British contemporary artist Damien Hirst, whose bold aesthetic adorns the iconic shield label. Sourced exclusively from Grand Cru vineyards alongside the historic Premier Cru plot at the Abbey of Hautvillers, the vines grow on classic chalk and limestone soils. Aged in the cellars for at least 12 years prior to disgorgement—compared to approximately 8 years for the Brut Vintage—the winemaking philosophy emphasizes extended lees contact to achieve profound depth, structural harmony, and Pinot Noir intensity.

Wine Description

The wine presents a luminous, deep salmon pink colour with copper highlights and a fine, persistent effervescence along the rim. An expressive, complex bouquet opens with vibrant aromas of ripe raspberry, red cherry, and wild strawberry, interwoven with noble notes of rosemary, dried lavender, liquorice, and warm toasted brioche spice. On the palate, it is full bodied, smooth, and round, delivering intense red fruit flavours and savory mineral complexity, all supported by a bright, mouthwatering spine of natural acidity. Framed by a luxurious, velvety mid-palate texture and vibrant fine bubbles, it concludes with an extraordinarily long, persistent finish marked by lingering red berries, subtle citrus peel, and a clean mineral grip. Composed of 56% Pinot Noir and 44% Chardonnay, this 2009 release offers an optimal drinking window of 2024–2045+. Stylistically, it combines Pinot Noir-driven richness, fruit intensity, and texture with the creative, avant-garde spirit of Damien Hirst's artistic vision.
