Product description
Originating from France in the Champagne region, specifically within the Champagne AOC appellation, Dom Pérignon Brut 'Damien Hirst' 2018 represents a transcendent, artistic, and prestige cuvée expression of vintage Champagne. Produced by the historic House of Dom Pérignon under Chef de Cave Vincent Chaperon, this limited edition celebrates a landmark creative collaboration with world-renowned British contemporary artist Damien Hirst, whose signature kaleidoscopic butterfly motif transforms the iconic shield label. Sourced exclusively from Grand Cru vineyards alongside the historic Premier Cru plot at the Abbey of Hautvillers, the vines grow on classic chalk and limestone soils. Aged in the cellars for over eight years on the lees prior to disgorgement, the winemaking philosophy emphasizes tension, precision, and complete harmony between Chardonnay elegance and Pinot Noir structure.
Wine Description
The wine presents a luminous pale gold colour with bright straw reflections and a fine, persistent effervescence along the rim. An expressive, complex bouquet opens with noble aromas of candied lemon, yellow peach, fresh nectarine, and green apple, interwoven with sophisticated notes of toasted brioche, crushed limestone, white blossom, subtle smoky flint, and warm spice. On the palate, it is full bodied, vibrant, and tactile, delivering concentrated flavours of stone fruit, citrus curd, and savory mineral earth, all supported by a bright, mouthwatering spine of natural acidity. Framed by a creamy, satiny mid-palate texture and lively fine bubbles, it concludes with a long, persistent finish marked by lingering lemon peel, toasted hazelnut, and a signature chalky mineral grip. Composed of a proprietary blend of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, this 2018 release offers an optimal drinking window of 2025–2045+. Stylistically, it combines the sunny warmth, precision, and fruit generosity of the 2018 harvest with the avant-garde spirit of Damien Hirst's artistic vision.
