Domaine Chermette Brouilly Pierreux 2023

This wine hails from France, specifically the Beaujolais region in southern Burgundy, with the Brouilly appellation as its origin. Domaine Chermette is a family-run estate established in the 19th century, now managed by Martine and Pierre-Marie Chermette. Renowned for championing traditional, low-intervention Beaujolais winemaking, the domaine focuses on expressing terroir and cultivating old vines without synthetic chemicals.

Wine Description

The Domaine Chermette Brouilly Pierreux 2023 is crafted entirely from Gamay Noir à Jus Blanc grapes sourced from granitic soils typical of Brouilly. In the glass, it reveals a vibrant ruby hue. The nose is lifted and perfumed, offering notes of wild strawberries, red cherries, subtle violets, and a faint earthy minerality. On the palate, it is medium-bodied with bright acidity and fine, silky tannins. Juicy red berry flavours intermingle with hints of crushed rock and a delicate peppery spice, leading to a fresh, elegant finish.

Food Pairing

Pair this Brouilly with roast chicken, grilled pork tenderloin, or a mushroom and thyme tart. The wine's bright fruit and subtle earthy undertones complement both lighter meats and savoury vegetable dishes beautifully. This pairing highlights the wine’s depth and character.
