This rare white expression originates from the same south-facing monopole (exclusive vineyard) in Beaune as the red. Managed by celebrated oenologist Nadine Gublin, the estate treats this white wine with the same meticulous care as its Grand Cru counterparts from Meursault and Montrachet.
Wine Description
The Domaine Jacques Prieur Beaune Clos de la Féguine Blanc is a vibrant and energetic Chardonnay.
Appearance: Luminous green-gold with shimmering silver reflections.
Nose: Sharp and subtle, the bouquet features refreshing notes of flint and wet stones alongside delicate spicy nuances. Aeration reveals white flowers, acacia, and Granny Smith apple.
Palate: The palate is defined by high energy and tension. It offers a sapid, chalky texture with flavors of citrus zest and pear. The finish is flavorful, generous, and marked by a powerful salinity.
Food Pairing
The wine’s piercing acidity and mineral core make it an excellent partner for rich fish dishes, such as salmon with a lemon-butter sauce or seared tuna. It also pairs beautifully with pasta in creamy sauces, cured meats, and mild soft cheeses. The sapid finish is a great counterpoint to the saltiness of fresh oysters or grilled shellfish.
