Originating from France in the Burgundy region, specifically within the Pommard AOC appellation in the Côte de Beaune, Domaine Parent Pommard 2023 represents a classically styled, structured, and muscular expression of Pinot Noir. Founded in 1787 and now run by sisters Anne and Catherine Parent, Domaine Parent is recognized as one of the benchmark estate producers in Pommard. The grapes are sourced from family-owned plots across the appellation, growing on classic clay and limestone soils rich in iron content. Under the direction of winemaker Anne Parent, the winemaking philosophy emphasizes organic farming practices, hand harvesting, partial whole-cluster inclusion, and aging in French oak barrels (approximately 25% to 30% new). The result is a quintessential Pommard that harmonizes dense structure, earthy minerality, and vibrant red fruit purity.

Wine Description

The wine presents a deep, clear ruby red colour with dark magenta reflections along the rim. An expressive, complex bouquet opens with noble aromas of dark cherry, ripe raspberry, and poached plum, interwoven with sophisticated notes of wet earth, forest floor, subtle game, crushed limestone, and warm baking spice. On the palate, it is medium-to-full bodied, structured, and energetic, delivering concentrated flavours of red berries, black cherry, and savory mineral earth, all supported by a bright, mouthwatering spine of natural acidity. Framed by firm, fine-grained tannins and a coat-the-mouth mid-palate texture, it concludes with a long, persistent finish marked by lingering dark fruit, iron minerality, and a clean chalky grip. Composed of 100% Pinot Noir, this 2023 release offers an optimal drinking window of 2026–2038. Stylistically, it combines Pommard's signature muscle and depth with the aromatic freshness of the 2023 growing season.
