Product description
Originating from France in the Burgundy region, specifically within the Beaune Premier Cru appellation in the Cote de Beaune, Domaine Seguin Manuel Beaune Champimonts Premier Cru represents a refined, expressive, and deeply historic expression of Pinot Noir. Founded in 1824, Domaine Seguin Manuel underwent a major resurgence under Thibaut Marion, who restored the estate's commitment to organic viticulture and traditional Burgundian winemaking. Sourced from the acclaimed Premier Cru vineyard Champimonts—situated on steep, east-facing mid-slopes with rich limestone and gravel soils—the winemaking philosophy focuses on certified organic farming, hand harvesting, minimal intervention, native yeast fermentation, and barrel aging in French oak (approximately 25% to 30% new) to craft a wine of energetic mineral tension, supple structure, and long cellaring capability.
Wine Description
The wine presents a brilliant, deep ruby red colour with vibrant garnet highlights in the glass. An inviting, highly aromatic bouquet opens with generous notes of red cherry, wild raspberry, and ripe red plum, interwoven with delicate nuances of violet, damp forest floor, sweet spices, and fine limestone minerality. On the palate, it is medium bodied, silky, and well balanced, delivering vibrant flavours of red berries and dark cherries anchored by a fresh, mouthwatering spine of natural acidity. Framed by fine-grained, velvety Premier Cru tannins and an elegant mid-palate, it concludes with a long, harmonious finish marked by lingering notes of sweet red fruit and subtle earthy spice. Composed of 100% Pinot Noir, it effortlessly marries classic Beaune generosity and floral charm with Premier Cru finesse and age-worthy elegance.
