Product description
Originating from France in the Burgundy region, specifically within the Aloxe Corton Premier Cru appellation in the Cote de Beaune, Domaine Tollot Beaut Aloxe Corton Les Fournieres 2022 represents a structured, savory, and cellaring grade expression of classic Pinot Noir. Produced by Domaine Tollot Beaut, an historic family estate managed by fifth generation winemakers Nathalie, Jean Paul, and Olivier Tollot, the property is celebrated for bottling its entire production at the domain since the 1920s. Sourced from Les Fournieres, a prized Premier Cru site situated on the gentle lower slopes of the Corton hill on iron-rich clay and limestone soils, the winemaking philosophy combines high-density planting, complete destemming, and temperature-controlled native yeast fermentation. Aged in French oak barrels (approximately 30% to 35% new) for up to 18 months, the wine captures the hallmark muscle and rustic charm of Aloxe Corton alongside Tollot Beaut's signature fruit purity and polished texture.
Wine Description
The wine presents a deep, clear dark garnet ruby colour with bright crimson reflections near the edge. An intense, aromatic bouquet opens with expressive notes of dark red cherry, ripe black raspberry, and wild plum, interwoven with savory nuances of smoked game, forest floor, damp earth, sweet spices, and subtle toasted oak. On the palate, it is medium-to-full bodied, firm, and concentrated, delivering rich flavours of crushed black cherries, dark berries, and subtle mineral iron, all supported by a bright, mouthwatering core of natural acidity. Framed by Les Fournieres' characteristic muscular, fine-grained Premier Cru tannins, it concludes with a long, structured finish marked by lingering dark fruit and savory earthiness. Composed of 100% Pinot Noir, this release offers an optimal drinking window of 2028–2040+. Stylistically, it combines classic Corton hillside power and longevity with luminous fruit clarity and refined structural balance.
