Product description
Originating from France in the Burgundy region, specifically within the Corton Grand Cru appellation in the northern Cote de Beaune, Domaine Tollot Beaut Grand Cru 'Corton Bressandes' 2022 represents a voluptuous, deeply structured, and cellaring grade expression of classic Pinot Noir. Managed by fifth generation winemakers Nathalie, Jean Paul, and Olivier Tollot, Domaine Tollot Beaut is an historic estate celebrated for bottling its entire production at the domain since the 1920s. Sourced from the prestigious Corton Bressandes climat (often referred to as Bressandes) situated on the east-facing mid-slope of the Corton hill on warm, limestone-rich clay soils, the winemaking philosophy combines high-density planting, complete destemming, and native yeast fermentation. Aged in French oak barrels (approximately 50% to 60% new) for up to 18 months, the wine showcases the opulent fruit depth, seductive texture, and grand structural longevity of one of Corton's most complete Grand Cru lieux-dits alongside Tollot Beaut's signature polish and generosity.
Wine Description
The wine presents a deep, clear dark ruby purple colour with intense crimson reflections along the rim. An expressive, highly complex bouquet opens with noble aromas of dark red cherry, wild blackberry, black plum, and crushed cassis, interwoven with delicate nuances of violet petals, forest floor, damp earth, sweet baking spices, and rich toasted oak. On the palate, it is full bodied, fleshy, and deeply concentrated, delivering generous flavours of black cherry, dark berry fruit, and mineral iron, all supported by a vibrant, mouthwatering core of natural acidity. Framed by smooth, broad-shouldered Grand Cru tannins and a velvety mid-palate structure, it concludes with an exceptionally long, lingering finish marked by dark fruit, spice, and stony mineral grip. Composed of 100% Pinot Noir, this 2022 release offers an optimal drinking window of 2028–2045+. Stylistically, it effortlessly marries the sunny concentration and plush texture of the 2022 vintage with Corton Bressandes' characteristic aromatic complexity and regal structural presence.
