Introduction

Produced in the northernmost part of the Southern Rhône, this authentic red wine hails from the village of Vinsobres, an area famed for its high-altitude vineyards and cooling breezes. Domaine Vallot is one of the oldest and smallest family estates in the region, now managed by François Vallot (a fourth-generation winemaker) and his daughter Anaïs. The estate is a pioneer of conscious viticulture, having practiced organic farming since the 1990s and achieving full Demeter Biodynamic certification in 2007. Their philosophy centers on minimal intervention, utilizing spontaneous fermentations and the unique microclimate of their 450-meter elevation vineyards to produce wines that emphasize freshness and "gourmand" fruit over heavy extraction.

Wine Description

Domaine Vallot Côtes-du-Rhône "Le Coriançon" displays a vibrant ruby color with deep purple reflections. The nose is highly aromatic and "gulpable," offering a field-blend bouquet of black cherry, raspberry, and bramble berry layered with notes of violets, white pepper, and wild Mediterranean garrigue. On the palate, the wine is medium-to-full-bodied yet remarkably fresh, showcasing a "crunchy" fruit profile balanced by a stony, calcareous minerality. It is characterized by its silky, elegant tannins and savory undertones of black tea, cinnamon, and a hint of earthy mushroom on the harmonious finish.
